Tubing FAQ

Snowstar provides the chance to re-live childhood memories of riding an inner tube down a snow covered slope.  It is great family fun that requires no special skill or equipment.  Best of all, we will give you a ride to the top of  our tubing hill.

How safe is tubing?

It is just as safe as riding a bike.  For safety purposes we ask you to enter the chute only after it is clear.  Exit the chute in a timely manner so the tuber behind you does not collide with you.  Attendants are there to help you and prevent collisions.

Is there a place to warm up?

Yes, we do have a fire-pit at the tubing hill.  We also have a lodge next to the Welcome Center where you can warm up by one of our two fireplaces.  Our cafeteria is located upstairs and our pizza/sub shop is in the lower level.

Do I have to sign anything?

We do require that everyone sign a tube waiver form.  A parent/guardian is required to sign for anyone under 18.  A copy of the waiver is available to download.

Can I bring my own sled?

We do not allow personal sleds to be used on the runs.  Tube rental is included in the cost of your ticket.

Can more than one person ride a tube?

No.  For safety reasons only one person per tube.  Once again this is for safety reasons.  When speed conditions permit, multiple tubes can be hooked together, but each person will have their own tube.

How do I get back up to the top tube hill?

You can effortlessly ride back up the hill on the magic carpet, our state-of-the-art moving sidewalk. A magic carpet is much like and escallator but without steps. See the picture below.

What age can a child tube?

We prefer that children be at least four (4) years old.  For safety reasons all tubers must be able to get out of their tube on there own and exit the tubing lane in a timely manner. Only one person per tube, no children allowed on parents laps.

Do I need to wear any special clothing?

Dress according to the weather and as if you were going sledding.  We suggest dressing in layers and a water proof outer layer is recommended.

Please note Ski boots are not allowed on the tubing hill.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Tubing tickets are purchased in the Welcome Center.  After purchasing your pass, place it on your jacket, metal wicket first and then the ticket.   It is then a short walk to the bottom of the tubing hill to get your tube.

Can I watch my kids without purchasing a ticket?

Yes you are more than welcome to watch, there are picnic tables, a fire pit, and music at the bottom of the tube hill.
